The most common name is Mylar Label, which is a brand of polyester. Polyester labels usually have a glossy finish, and might be white polyester, silver polyester, and now OTHER COLORS!  Thermal transfer imprintable polyester labels usually require a resin thermal transfer ribbon, i.e. the SDR ribbon.  Polyester labels can withstand harsh environments, including high heat, sunlight, UV, etc.  Polyester labels are durable, waterproof, tearproof, and scratch and heat resistant.  Able Label has UL Recognized Polyester Labels. Common applications for polyester labels include company asset labels and other identification labels, asset labels and property labels used for identification of property, equipment and electronics. Polyester with heavy coat weight adhesive is also available for extremely rugged applications.  Polyester labels are often used in place of foil labels, where a more durable material is required.  Are you looking for a label that will adhere to an oily surface?
