Able Label’s direct thermal labels are available in standard paper and polypropylene.
Direct thermal printing does not rely on ribbons to print. Direct transfer labels have a
heat-sensitive property that turns to black when it reaches a certain temperature.
The coated direct thermal paper labels are best used in indoor environments. Direct sunlight can cause the product to darken. The cost of direct thermal labels is slightly higher than standard thermal transfer labels. When you figure the cost of thermal transfer labels and a ribbon with direct thermal, which does not use a ribbon, the cost is very comparable. Able Label offers direct thermal paper labels in standard paper, removable adhesive direct thermal labels, piggyback direct thermal labels and Dymo Compatible direct thermal Labels.
Our direct thermal Polypropylene labels are produced for a more rugged use than the standard direct thermal labels described above. You may request samples to test under the conditions they will be subjected to. Direct thermal labels are normally used where the label is not permanent. They work great for address labels, shipping labels and any temporary application. Direct thermal labels are not suitable for outdoor use.
